Fun and thought-provoking entertainment can be presented in a variety of ways. . . .
Bastard Blood
Bastard Blood consists of two plays that run concurrently.
One audience follows the Yorkist clan into the War of the
Roses while the other audience follows their deadly family
rivals, the Lancastrians. Intersecting at times, the two
audiences finally collide when the Tudors join the mayhem.
Written before the recent DNA news on Richard III, Bastard
Blood shows its prescience by revealing that none of the
royal bloodline claims were pure! Using text from Richard III;
Henry V; and the three parts of Henry VI, Sybil Lines’ script
adds historic characters that Shakespeare dared not include.
Pippa Chaucer, Edmund Beaufort, and saucy Jane Shore are
amongst those telling secrets of kidnappings, seductions and
murders in this true tale of ruthless ambition.

Rough.In.Proof
Sybilline Productions and BRASS Acting Corp., collaborated on a New York City production of this original script based on “Romeo & Juliet”. Devised, edited and written by Sybil Lines and Sea McHale “R.I.P.” includes scenes with Shakespeare’s text but adds new characters and surprising twists to the familiar plot. The photographs illustrate the immersive nature of the piece for the audience who move from location to location during the course of the action and even enjoy delicacies at the Capulet’s feast.

A Shared Cherry Orchard
A site-specific rendition was presented in a gracious Victorian house in
Washington D.C. as this funny and traumatic drama played itself out. Based on characters
from Anton Chekov’s “The Cherry Orchard” the audience was welcomed by the manservant,
Firs, to a buffet of typical Russian fare. This adapted script by Sybil Lines brings Madam
Ranevskya late to the meal and, thanking everyone for attending her home-coming from France,
she reunites with Varya, Lophakin, Trofimov and Gaev. The family’s financial crisis evolves
in the midst of the audience who, in this one-hour version of the story, share coffee,
dessert and music with the characters.
After the Garden, Edie Beale Live at Reno Sweeney!
Gerald Duval and Sybil Lines collaborated
on this one-hour piece in which Edie Beale
comments on the death of her mother;
the film-makers Albert and David Maysles;
her home “Grey Gardens” and her famous cousin,
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. “After The Garden”
has been performed at various venues including the
prestigious Joe’s Pub in Manhattan. The script was
devised from Gerald’s shared conversations with the
real Edie Beale and imagined thoughts she may have
had about where her life was leading. The setting,
a nightclub with the audience placed at cocktail
tables, reflects the cabaret performance
Edie gave at Reno’s in 1978.
